Manhattan Fish Market 🐟🐟🐟 *4 Steps of Happiness*

Manhattan Fish Market was not on our bucket list as I am not a fan of fish. However, with the good comments on their dishes we thought we should give it a go !

We were greeted as soon as we went in and got a spot in a corner with a comfy red couch surrounded with white walls with frames of catchy quotes.



On the day we went they had an offer called '4 Steps of Happiness' at LKR 1490++whcih came with a choice from each of the following four.

So for one meal we got a Crispy whitebait, Manhattan fish n' chips, Citrus mint drink and a Manhattan mud pie. 

Crispy whitebait was a dish with Crispy fried sprats, served with coleslaw. This was really good although the portion was a bit smaller than displayed in the picturess. It was more coleslaw and less sprats which led to a slight disappointment.

Manhattan fish n' chips on the other hand made up for it ! I love Dory, but I love Dory on my plate too ! *evil laugh* When you order a dish we suggest you opt for dory because that fish won't disappoint you, ever. The chips were hot and crispy and the side salad was amazingly flavorful building up the appetite. And this main is very, very filling. 

The citrus mint was such a failure as a beverage. We both got the same and we regretted it the minute we tasted it. It was neither tasty nor a good palette cleanser. It was way too minty. 

The Manhattan Mud Pie was, heaven ! It was full of the gooey chocolate flavor although we couldn't finish it after such a heavy meal. 




For the second meal we picked a Chiptole fish skewer, a Flaming cheesy baked rice, another citrus mint drink and a cookie sundae. 

The chipotle fish skewer came as 3 grilled pieces of fish on kebab sticks, very generous with the smoky chipotle sauce which had a very distinctive spicy and smoky flavor. This again came with a side of coleslaw. So when you eat here, remember there's no need to pay for salad again as you'll get enough salad to fulfill the quota for a week maybe.

The flaming cheesy baked rice was flamed right in front of us ! :D 


We got dory again and it came with coriander and Rosemary herb rice with the abundant taste of garlic and was such a treat. I would've like more cheese though.

The cookie sundae came with crushed Oreo and vanilla ice-cream and was nothing out of the ordinary. But hey it's Oreo and ice-cream, that's extraordinary in itself.



We do not regret going there after all and maybe just maybe I'm a fan of fish after all, or atleast Dory let's say. 

So this offer is there till the end of first week of November according to the Facebook page so do try it out you'll love it and you'll have a good time trying to eat so much !

Sugar Bristo & Wine Bar

Sugar Bristo & Wine Bar is located at the front of the Crescat Boulevard and is a restaurent with a very nice atmosphere. You can either dine inside or out in the open depending on your mood and the availability of seating. We prefer to sit outside as it's well lighted with a nice surrounding. Interior designing is well down as well as the exterior. So, first we ordered the Bacon Butty at LKR 700 where there's an option for beef bacon as well. However, I went with the pork. It came with sides of picked veggies and potato wedges. It was such a perfect dish that I ate slowly savoring the taste of each bite despite the fact that I was very hungry at the moment. RIU Ahungalla - a new place for an escape

RIU Sri Lanka is a nice addition to the Sri Lankan hotel scene. If your journey to the hotel starts from Colombo, it will only take 2 hours to reach there. As RIU has more than 100 hotels all over the world, our expectations were high. Rather mixed feelings about this hotel. I'll start with the good bits, Fantastic location The hotel is located on the lovely Ahungalla beach. The sunset, when you are in a pool with a nice exotic cocktail in your hand, is something you should experience in your life.
