Finally something to taco-bout ^_^ [ DAY ONE ]

Taco Bell is our new found love ! We first went there a day or two after it opened and the line was pouring out the door because of the hype of the new franchise for the first time in Sri Lanka. So we turned away and returned again like a week after and we will never regret going there.



The walls outside was covered with graffiti and there were drawings on the walls inside as well. The music was nice and not bursting your eardrums as it was on the very first days so that's a good improvement. There were few types of seating. The table with the highchairs had plug points with USBs as well hanging from the ceiling so you can charge your phone while you're there and also work on your laptop or have a quick business meeting.

 We wanted to try few different items as this was our first try at Mexican food. So, we bought a taco slider at LKR 800 with three crunchy tacos and one soft taco juggling them with the four different fillings Fajita chicken, Mexican chicken, Crispy chicken and Crispy fish. We avoided pinto beans as both of us aren't a fan of it.

The Fajita chicken was the best it was very flavourful and tasted heavenly in the mouth. Crispy fish was of good taste as well because my boyfriend who hates fish actually like the tasted of it. Mexican chicken although wan't very charming to the taste bud disappointing us as we went for "Mexican" you know.

The crispy chicken was real good and we bought a separate portion of crispy chicken at LKR 390 which is a side dish with 3 strips of crispy chicken.



As per the sauces, if you're not a fan of extreme spiciness STAY AWAY FROM HOT GHOST PEPPER !!! Cool ranch and smoky chiptole are both adding flavour to the tacos.

Taco Bell is nacho place to be if you don't like their NACHOS ! WE love the nachos that come with cheese on the top with minced up onions pepper and tomatoes. We got the cheesy nachos at LKR 340 and my boyfriend is addicted to them now !

We also got two dips Spicy Salsa and Sour Cream at LKR 60 each separately which were both good but the spicy salsa is the best and we buy it whenever we go there now.

They provide extra sauce, YES extra to ALL THAT SAUCE !!! And they have such cute quotes on them as you can see :D


The hot sauce is kinda okay but PLEASE stay away from the one that says FIRE ! No matter how adorable the quote is :p Those who love the sense of the food burning a hole through their tongue though, please be my guest ! :'D

We bought a lime Mojito at LKR 250 as sadly cold stuff doesn't reflect well on our health. The mojito was slightly over minty but was nice. Buy one if you go there to clean your palette in between the portions as they have many different flavours and you don't wanna miss out on them because you can't tell them apart when you eat one after the other.

So overall we spent around LKR 2000 on the food and boy was it good ! and fairly filling as well !

Sugar Bristo & Wine Bar

Sugar Bristo & Wine Bar is located at the front of the Crescat Boulevard and is a restaurent with a very nice atmosphere. You can either dine inside or out in the open depending on your mood and the availability of seating. We prefer to sit outside as it's well lighted with a nice surrounding. Interior designing is well down as well as the exterior. So, first we ordered the Bacon Butty at LKR 700 where there's an option for beef bacon as well. However, I went with the pork. It came with sides of picked veggies and potato wedges. It was such a perfect dish that I ate slowly savoring the taste of each bite despite the fact that I was very hungry at the moment. The sandwich was generous with bacon and season very well it tasted like heaven in my mouth. The veggies were well seasoned as well and so were the potato wedges and they were very crispy adding on to the appetite. RIU Ahungalla - a new place for an escape

RIU Sri Lanka is a nice addition to the Sri Lankan hotel scene. If your journey to the hotel starts from Colombo, it will only take 2 hours to reach there. As RIU has more than 100 hotels all over the world, our expectations were high. Rather mixed feelings about this hotel. I'll start with the good bits, Fantastic location The hotel is located on the lovely Ahungalla beach. The sunset, when you are in a pool with a nice exotic cocktail in your hand, is something you should experience in your life.
